For our Positive Impact December 2017, the Payline Giving team focused on human rights initiatives by working with Chicago-based Heartland Alliance. Heartland Alliance is one of the world’s leading anti-poverty organizations, working in communities in the U.S. and abroad to serve those who are homeless, living in poverty, or seeking safety. The organization provides a comprehensive array of services in the areas of health, housing, jobs and justice — and leads state and national policy efforts that target lasting change for individuals and society.
Heartland Alliance advances the human rights and responds to the human needs of endangered populations — particularly the poor, the isolated, and the displaced — through the provision of comprehensive and respectful services and the promotion of permanent solutions leading to a more just global society.
For our monthly event, Payline collected 92 gifts for 4 groups of families and individuals for the Adopt-a-Family campaign. This initiative supports those who would otherwise go without in providing basic necessities to help keep people feeling warm and dignified. Payline team members also stuffed holiday stockings that included toys, hats and gloves, and hygiene items for 20 youth and adults who spend the holidays alone.

Looking Ahead to Next Month’s Positive Impact
In the month ahead, Payline will be focusing on Education and for the second year in a row, our team will be partnering with Back 2 School Illinois. Their Build-A-Kit initiative, launched in 2015, allows companies to purchase school supplies in bulk and assemble them into kits as part of a team-building exercise which has helped accelerate the growth of the Back 2 School program. In 2018, Back to School Illinois will launch their College Scholarship Program, handing out ten $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors.
